Hello dear GISH PICKS reader! Spring has sprung which means summer is just around the corner. It’s time to trade out our sweaters for our swim suits and to find that sunscreen and bug spray. And…it’s time to figure out where to send our kids for day camp fun! My guide to summer camps is the LARGEST and MOST ACCURATE guide in the city – I’ve been researching summer day camps since 2003 and I love finding cool camps for kids. I’m all about IGNITING LIVES (see why here) and exploring interests during the summer at camps are a great way to do that.

Check out THE SUMMER BOOK® ONLINE and start your camp search now. There are over 200 camps to choose from so there’s at least one camp that’s perfect for every child! You can find camps by age group, area of town, subject matter, and much more! It’s so easy, you’ll love it. Best of all, you can search from anywhere – the carpool line, at work (shhh!), and while at the beach.

And because I love to make recommendations of summer camps and organizations that offer classes, below is my curated list of some I want you to be sure you check out. Happy searching! And if you have any questions or would like a speaker to come and talk to your group about summertime family fun, please contact me. I’d love to help!

Crossing Borders provides a great opportunity for kids to get ahead in school, discover a new language and culture, and make new friends. Kids will participate in interactive games and role playing so they can speak their new language in real situations. Campers are grouped by age and fluency level so they can learn and practice among their peers. Their Houston camps feature Spanish, English (ESL), French, Mandarin, and Arabic while the Pearland camps feature ESL and Spanish. Languages offered vary by week.
