READY FOR A GREAT WEEKEND?!
This Saturday, April 29, is “Independent Bookstore Day,” which is celebrated annually on the last Saturday of April (check the website for a short listing of Houston bookstores – not listed are Becker’s Books, the Menil Bookstore, River Oaks Bookstore, and others). Brazos Bookstore is celebrating the day with a full schedule of events, listed here, and they have also announced their annual summer book & film combo - “Summer of Austen” – which they are presenting with Main Street Theater, the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, Rice Cinema, Writers in the Schools, and Under The Volcano.
Next Saturday, May 6, is “World Labyrinth Day,” organized by the Labyrinth Society. I’ll have a list of Houston events as a PICK next weekend but one to mark down for sure is my labyrinth walk from 1-5pm at Grace Episcopal Church (see all the details here). For a list of Houston area labyrinths, check my website and for a list of labyrinths around the world, check this World-Wide Labyrinth Locator which is maintained by two national labyrinth organizations, the Labyrinth Society and Veriditas. If you’re looking for peace and a new way to meditate, I suggest you try labyrinths. Join the Houston Labyrinth Walkers Facebook group to stay up-to-date on all things labyrinth and for a list of our local events.
Have a great weekend, love one another, please share this, and please go IGNITE YOUR LIFE!
